Once again, gang, SYFY WIRE has the major scoop from WB about the next Scooby-Doo Direct-To-Video movie!
Watch the trailer HERE and we’ll talk about it after!
From the Press Release: An original animated feature so exciting it’s scratching at the door! Comedy is unleashed when Scooby-Doo, your favorite mystery-solving mutt, teams up for the first time with Courage the Cowardly Dog. The canine colleagues sniff out a strange object in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas, the backwoods hometown of Courage and his owners, Eustace and Muriel Bagge. Soon, the mysterious discovery puts them on the trail of a giant cicada monster and her wacky winged warriors. Fred, Velma, Daphne and Shaggy know that this job is too big for a flyswatter. They’ll need the help of the doggy duo to piece together the puzzle. Can Scooby and Courage overcome their jitters and defeat the insect army before the whole world bugs out? Try not to get scared. We double-dog dare you!
After a string of disappointing sequel and follow up DTV movies, I’m glad to see, what appears to be, the continuing uptick in quality.
This is pure Cartoon Network throwback goodness and I really love seeing it.
I’m hopeful that the obstinately in denial Velma takes a back seat in this one, as that just won’t mesh with the 100% real supernatural monsters and curses tone of Courage AT ALL.
One thing I definitely need to point out again though is that my biggest disappointment will continue to be that these movies aren’t being released on Blu-Ray anymore.
As 4K and such starts to become more common place, I really hope they start releasing them on standard Blu-Ray again soon because this animation is too crisp for just DVDs.
The flick stars Frank Welker as Fred Jones & Scooby-Doo, Grey Griffin as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers, Kate Micucci as Velma Dinkley, Marty Grabstein as Courage the Cowardly Dog, Thea White as Muriel Bagge, and Jeff Bergman as Eustice Bagge, Straight Outta Nowhere hits DVD on September 14th, the day after the 52nd anniversary of the Scooby-Doo franchise’s debut.

And finally, given the state of the world, do what you can to leave it a little bit better than you found it.
As difficult as that may be currently, it can have an impact far greater than you know.
Until next time, stay safe out there, gang.
