Please turn off your cellphones and join us in reliving the trauma of what happened 40 years ago tonight when shit went sideways and HE came home, and see if we can live up to the rarely heard, yet immensely catchy slogan of, evil dies tonight!
For our 82nd Commentary we subtly lead an angry mob through the labyrinthine like hallways of the hospital that is 2021 for the night that evil dies, and will seemingly never end, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Anthony Michael Hall to relive what happened 40 years ago tonight.
Evil dies tonight as we relive what happened 40 years ago tonight and ponder how many goddamn catchphrases one character can spew repeatedly, debate how realistic a kill or two is, wonder if this is a comment on the culture wars, and see if we’re with it enough to remember what happened 40 years ago tonigh.

Great episode guys! Normally, I listen to the episodes while multi-tasking because I have kids and thus, no real life.
Today, on Halloween, I watched the movie while listening to this episode. I learned a lesson today that is probably a no brainer, but boy have I been missing out!
I had never seen this movie before and you guys made it pretty clear at the start that this is going to be a heap of garbage. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the start of this movie. I felt like the production value was pretty damn good and I thought the set dressing (leaves, decorations, etc) were nice!
Doom mentioned the long shots being good and I couldn’t agree more. This movie had a good vibe and I really enjoyed the flashback….something I typically despise in all forms.
About 20 minutes in, we have a scene with the firefighters and wow…they did a really good job with those scenes! The firefighters and their scenes did not bother me. Real facts, if a crew was at the scene of a fire and a dude in a mask came out like that with their Halligan tool, they would legit come together like the Avengers and try and woop that ass. Would they fire up the Rescue Saw and try to cut the guy? No way. They would be worried about getting fired, but I don’t doubt that they would all charge that dude.
So up to this point, I am not hating this flick….and then something changes at the hospital. The old guy sitting next to the nude body…what?!
The lady flying a drone in her kitchen? What? How did we get here…how are we seeing this bizarre character development. Did someone lose a bet when writing their scenes? Killed with a lightbulb?!?!?! Those things, especially when broken, are more fragile than a fucking cracked egg.
Honestly, it goes downhill fast from there with little nuggets here and there. Are they nuggets of crap? Strongly debatable. Would I recommend this movie? No. Would I recommend it while listening to this episode?! 100%.

It really did start out at its high point and go downhill exponentially fast after. Especially compared to 2018, it feels like two entirely different teams made this fuckin’ thing and it’s bafflingly sad.
That lightbulb shit was particularly egregious.
